Kootenay 4 Medicine Hat 2

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 3 3rd period goals in a 4-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers in WHL action on Friday night.

Tigers opened the scoring right off the opening face-off with a 2-on-0 break as Wacey Hamilton scored after receiving a pass near the crease. The goal was the fastest by an ICE opposition to start a game in franchise history.
ICE tied it 1-1 late in the 2nd period as Dominik Pacovsky came off the corner board and fired a snap shot by the screened goalie.
Early in the 3rd the ICE took a 2-1 lead as Michael Stickland fed Kevin King crashing the crashed and banged in the goal.
ICE made it 3-1 on a breakaway as Dustin Sylvester scored his league leading 4th shorthanded goal with a wrist shot top corner of the glove side.
Tigers pulled their goalie and scored with seconds left as Bretton Cameron’s shot hit an ICE skate and went into the net.
ICE would put the game away with an empty net goal from Michael Stickland.

The ICE will visit Spokane on Saturday.
