Kootenay 6 Chilliwack 3

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 2 shorthanded and goals and 1 on the power-play in a 6-3 win over the Chilliwack Bruins in WHL action on Saturday night.

ICE opened the scoring while shorthanded as Dustin Sylvester, on a two-one-one break, scored on a wrist shot high on the glove side.
Bruins tied it up with the clubs skating 4-on-4 and Ryan Howse got a breakaway and scored with a wrist shot high on the stick side.
Bruins took a 2-1 lead as Howse scored his 2nd of the game on a deflection on a point shot from Jeff Einhorn.
ICE roared back with 4 goals starting with Max Reinhart’s 1st goal career goal on a wrist shot that glanced of the goalies’ blocker and into the top corner.
On a partial breakaway Kevin King scored on a backhand shot high on the glove side.
Defenseman Cason Machacek would score his 1st career goal with a waist high deflection off a Dustin Sylvester shot. It was the club’s 2nd short-handed goal of the game.
Bruins changed goalies as Lucas Gore replaced Mark Friesen.
The ICE made it 5-2 with a power-play goal from John Negrin who stepped into a slap shot that beat the new goalie on the stick side.
Bruins Howse completed his hat-trick after finding a loose puck near the crease.
Ice forward Tylan Stephens finished the scoring on a goal mouth scramble.

The ICE will host Red Deer on Tuesday.
