Saskatoon 5 Kootenay 4 OT

Cranbrook, BC – The Saskatoon Blades beat the Kootenay ICE 5-4 in overtime in WHL action on Saturday night.

Blades’ opened the scoring as Darian Dziuryzynski scored on a breakaway with a snapshot through the goalies’ legs.
The ICE tied it 1-1 late in the 1st period as Andrew Bailey deflected a point shot from Ian Barteaux.
ICE took a 2-1 lead early in the 2nd period as John Negrin fired a shot that beat the screened goal low on the glove side.
Blades’ tied it late in the 2nd period as Dziurynski scored his 2nd of the game on a power-play finding a loose puck in a goal mouth scramble.
With 5 minutes left the ICE scored 2 quick goals to take a 4-2 lead as Kevin King and Tylan Stephens found the net.
Blades Derek Hulak brought them within a goal and then with their goalie on the bench Burke Gallimore scored to force overtime.
In overtime Gallimore got the game winner with a spin around in the middle slot.

The Blades have points in 10 straight games (9-0-1), while the ICE have points in 7 straight games. (5-0-2)

The ICE will visit Edmonton on Tuesday.
