Swift Current 3 Kootenay 2 OT

For the 5th time in 12 games this season the Kootenay ICE go to overtime. For the 1st time the game is decided before the shootout as the Broncos scored with 1:33 left. For the 3rd time this season the ICE scored the 1st goal of the game and actually lead 2-0 after 1 period. For the 2nd time this season the ICE lead after 40 minutes. Drew Czerwonka (2) and Dustin Sylvester (4) had the goals. For the 2nd time during this trip Thomas Heemskerk gave up the winning goal by trying to pass the puck into the neutral zone only to have it intercepted and seconds later have it end up in the net. The club has earned 3 points in 3 games but have played well enough to win all 3 games. Swift Current and Regina have the best records in the East Division and the ICE have shown they are on the same level. Monday Afternoon they wrap up the trip in Medicine Hat.
