ICE Add Goalie

Cranbrook, BC -- Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the club has acquired goaltender Todd Mathews and a conditional seventh round pick in the 2009 or 2010 WHL Bantam Draft from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a conditional fifth round pick in the 2009 or 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.
“With the departure of Thomas Heemskerk we needed a goaltender with WHL experience who first of all can join our team and secondly be a contributor. We feel Todd will be a welcome addition to our club who also compete for games with Nathan Lieuwen,” added Chynoweth.
Todd Mathews will join the ICE after the Christmas break (December 26) and will be in the line-up when they face the Lethbridge Hurricanes on December 27.
Kootenay returns to action Saturday night at home against the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7:00 pm for the Annual A&W Teddy Bear / Mitten Toss. Tickets for this game are available at the Kootenay ICE Office and Kootenay Collectibles.
