Kootenay 7 Regina 3

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 4 3rd period goals in a 7-3 win over the Regina Pats in WHL action on Tuesday night.

ICE opened the scoring on a disputed goal. Pats’ goalie Linden Rowat made a save on a long shot and wanted to have a faceoff, the referee said move the puck, and he threw it out in front of the net and Ryan Fox banged it right into the net.
ICE made it 2-0 as Rowat was behind his net to play the puck, Jesse Ismond took it away and found a wide open Andrew Bailey in the slot and his one-time shot went in off the goal post low on the glove side.
Pats got on the board as Brett Lefflers’ long shot beat Nathan Lieuwen on the stick side.
Pats tied the game 2-2 while shorthanded as Matt Robertson backhand shot went high on the glove side.
Regina made it 3-2 as Garrett Mitchell’s wrist shot went under the arm of the ICE goalie.
ICE changed goalies as Todd Mathews replaced Nathan Lieuwen.
ICE tied it 3-3 as Tylan Stephens deflected a point shot from Ian Barteaux.
Early in the 3rd period the ICE got the game winner from Kevin King.
Pats changed goalies as Damien Ketlo replaced Linden Rowat.
Joe Antilla made it 5-3 with a backhand deke.
Jesse Ismond made it 6-3 on a deflection.
Stephens scored his 2nd of the night to end the scoring

Max Reinhart returned to the line-up after missing 4 games with a shoulder injury.
Brayden McNabb missed his 5th game (concussion day-to-day), Tyler Vanscourt his 2nd game (shoulder 4-6 weeks), Dustin Sylvester 13th game (ankle indefinite) and Steele Boomer 10th game (concussion indefinite). ICE were 1 player short of a complete line-up.

The ICE will host Brandon on Friday.
