Calgary 5 Kootenay 3 Exhibition Game #1

The Kootenay ICE opened their preseason with a 5-3 loss against Calgary in a game that was played in the Crowsnest Pass.

ICE goal scorers were Simon Skrudland, Max Reinhart and Ryan Bloom,
At one point the ICE led 3-1 and with 4 minutes left in the 2nd period they were out shooting Calgary 27-17. In the final 24 minutes Calgary outshot the ICE 28-5.

The ICE line-up consisted of 16, 17 & 18-year-olds.
Seven of the players were on the ICE roster last year. (Nathan Lieuwen, Tyler Vanscourt, Cason Machacek, Christian Magnus, Jesse Ismond, Max Reinhart & Michael Cassivi.
Calgary had two 20-year-olds and one 19-year-old and had 10 WHL veterans.

Max Reinhart and Petr Senkerik left the game early with minor injuries.

The ICE will play Lethbridge in the Crowsnest Pass on Sunday at 4.
