ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 4-7-0-0 record (2-2-0-0 at home, 2-5-0-0 on the road, 1-0 in overtime, 1-0 in shootouts) and tied for fourth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and for 14th place overall in the WHL…This week the ICE will host SPOKANE (October 16) before traveling to SPOKANE (October 17).

TRAVEL PLUS FAN BUS: The KOOTENAY ICE and TRAVEL PLUS are proud to offer the TRAVEL PLUS FAN BUS to SPOKANE on Saturday, October 17…The cost is $89.00 per person and includes a box lunch, prizes, raffle and a ticket to the game…You must be 21 and over to go on the bus and if you are interested you can sign up at TRAVEL PLUS or by calling 250-417-2777…First come, first serve and the deadline is today (Tuesday, October 13).

UNUSED SEASON TICKETS: Season Ticket Holders who have unused season tickets can exchange them for any regular season game at a cost of $5.00 per ticket…The unused tickets must have the ticket stub attached in order to be eligible…Tickets can be exchanged any time at the KOOTENAY ICE Office and Kootenay Collectibles.

PEPSI KIDS CLUB: Registration for the PEPSI KIDS CLUB is underway…Kids from five to 12 can sign up to be part of the KIDS CLUB and receive a punch card to attend eight games for only $2.00…The events this year will be bowling with the ICE, skating with the team, and watching a movie with the players…Cost for each kid is $17.00 and forms are available at the Kootenay ICE Office.

SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS: The sale of SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS continues…You get seven game certificates to use at your convenience – total flexibility…SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS are available in Adult, Senior, Student and Youth packages. Adults are $99.00, Seniors $81.00, Students $81.00 and Youth $57.00.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE have won 447 games since moving to CRANBROOK in 1998-1999 (447-249-94)…JOEY LEACH recorded his first WHL point with an assist on October 11 against MOOSE JAW…LUKE PAULSEN recorded his first WHL career point with an assist against the WARRIORS (October 11)…MATT FRASER, who has played in 145 WHL career games, recorded his first WHL career hat trick against BRANDON on October 9…ELGIN PEARCE recorded his first WHL career point with an assist on October 9 against the WHEAT KINGS…JAMES MARTIN recorded his first WHL career goal on October 7 against SASKATOON…BRAYDEN MCNABB, who is tied for second in the League in assists with 11, is tied second for points by a defenceman with 13 (2-11-13)...MCNABB has played in 146 career games with the ICE…KEVIN KING needs to record three more points to reach 100 career points.

INJURIES: Forwards CHRISTIAN MAGNUS (broken finger) and DREW CZERWONKA (leg laceration) will both be out of the KOOTENAY line up one to two weeks…Forward DUSTIN SYLVESTER (neck) and Defenceman PETR SENKERIK (shoulder) will be out of the ICE line up day to day.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 11 games of the 2008-2009 season the ICE were 3-5-0-3, after 12 games 3-5-1-3 and after 13 games 4-5-1-3.
