ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 5-8-0-0 record (3-2-0-0 at home, 2-6-0-0 on the road, 1-0 in overtime, 1-0 in shootouts) and in fifth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and tied for 17th place overall in the WHL…The ICE will play their next five games at home against PORTLAND (October 23), MOOSE JAW (October 24), EVERETT (October 28), BRANDON (October 30) and SEATTLE (November 1).

UNUSED SEASON TICKETS: Season Ticket Holders who have unused season tickets can exchange them for any regular season game at a cost of $5.00 per ticket…The unused tickets must have the ticket stub attached in order to be eligible…Tickets can be exchanged any time at the KOOTENAY ICE Office and Kootenay Collectibles.

PEPSI KIDS CLUB: Registration for the PEPSI KIDS CLUB is underway…Kids from five to 12 can sign up to be part of the KIDS CLUB and receive a punch card to attend eight games for only $2.00…The events this year will be bowling with the ICE, skating with the team, and watching a movie with the players…Cost for each kid is $17.00 and forms are available at the Kootenay ICE Office.

SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS: The sale of SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS continues…You get seven game certificates to use at your convenience – total flexibility…SUPER SEVEN FLEX PAKS are available in Adult, Senior, Student and Youth packages. Adults are $99.00, Seniors $81.00, Students $81.00 and Youth $57.00.

WEST COAST AUTHENTICS NIGHT: When the ICE host PORTLAND (October 23) and MOOSE JAW (October 24) it will be WEST COAST AUTHENTICS Night…Fans that attend the game will have the opportunity to purchase NHL Memorabilia that will be as low as $50.00…Part of the proceeds from the memorabilia sold will go to the Kootenay ICE Education Fund.

DID YOU KNOW: BRAYDEN MCNABB, who is tied for seventh in the League in assists with 11, is tied for third for points by a defenceman with 14 (3-11-14)...MCNABB has played in 148 career games with the ICE…DUSTIN SYLVESTER has played in 249 career games with KOOTENAY…KEVIN KING needs to record two more points to reach 100 in this WHL career.

INJURIES: Forwards CHRISTIAN MAGNUS (broken finger) and DREW CZERWONKA (leg laceration) will both be out of the KOOTENAY line up two to three weeks…Defenseman CASON MACHACEK will be out of the ICE line up week to week with a concussion…Forward MATT FRASER will be out of the KOOTENAY line up day to day with a shoulder injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 13 games of the 2008-2009 season the ICE were 4-5-1-3, after 14 games 5-5-1-3 and 15 games 6-5-1-3.

DRAFTED PLAYER: BRAYDEN MCNABB – Buffalo Sabres (3rd Round, 2009 NHL Draft).
