Kootenay 5 Edmonton 2 Game #32

Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE forward Dustin Sylvester had 4 assists in a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in WHL action on Wednesday night.

ICE got the opening goal on the power-play as Dustin Sylvester sent a pass through the slot and found a wide open Hayden Rintoul who had an open net for the goal.
Kevin King made it 2-0 on a power-play deflection as Brayden McNabb faked a shot at the line, moved around the fallen Edmonton player and got the shot to the net.
Edmonton scored a power-play goal late in the period as Brent Raedeke fired a shot that found the top corner high on the stick side.

The ICE scored on another power-play as Brayden McNabb fired a slap shot from the middle blueline that beat the screened goalie on the stick side.
Oil Kings changed goalies as Cam Lanigan replaced Torrie Jung.
Edmonton got back within a goal on a 2-on-2 break and Logan Proulx’s shot deflected off an ice stick high into the net. The red light was on but the referees did not signal a goal. Video replayed ruled it a goal.
The ICE regained the 2 goal lead after wearing out the Oil Kings in their zone, hitting the goal post twice and eventually Rintoul found the puck in the lower circle and wristed a shot that Joe Antilla deflected through the goalies’ legs.

In the 3rd period ICE added an empty net goal from centre ice from Steele Boomer.

ICE scratches – Dominik Pacovsky 7th game (ankle 2-4 weeks), Jagger Dirk & Elgin Pearce.

The ICE will host Calgary on Friday.
