U-18 Canada 6 Slovakia 1

PIESTANY, Slovakia – Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team has advanced to the semifinals at the 2010 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka after winning Group B with a perfect 3-0 record. Canada will face the Czech Republic in semifinal action on Friday.
Canada completed an unbeaten round robin with a 6-1 win over Slovakia. Boone Jenner (Dorchester, Ont./Oshawa, OHL) scored twice to lead the offence, while Duncan Siemens (Sherwood Park, Alta./Saskatoon, WHL) and Matt Puempel (Essex, Ont./Peterborough, OHL) added a goal and an assist each as Canada scored three goals in 53 seconds midway through the third period to break open a 3-1 game. Scott Harrington (Kingston, Ont./London, OHL) and Myles Bell (Calgary, Alta./Regina, WHL) had the other Canadian goals.
In Friday’s other semifinal, the United States will face Sweden.
