WHL Notes August 9

Prince George acquired 20-year old goaltender Morgan Clark from the Swift Current Broncos. In exchange, the Broncos get a 2011 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft conditional pick.
Clark has played a total of 142 regular season games in the WHL for the Red Deer Rebels and Swift Current Broncos. During the 2009-10 season with the Broncos, Clark played 46 games, earning a 24-14-1-2 record with a 2.92 goals against average and a save percentage of .907. Clark also picked up one shut-out. The 6’1”, 162 pound product of Flower Mound, Texas, is a seventh round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Cougars also announce 19-year old goaltender Hudson Stremmel has decided to remain in Reno, Nevada to focus on his education.

With the move, the Broncos now have four 20 year olds on the roster including: Justin Dowling, Stepan Novotny, Travis Bobbee and Mark Friesen.

Tampa Bay signed defenseman Radko Gudas to a three-year, entry level contract.
Gudas, 6-foot, 202 pounds, played in 65 games with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League last season, recording seven goals and 37 points with a plus-45 rating. He led the team in plus/minus and penalty minutes with 151. Gudas also led all Everett defensemen in points and assists. He also skated in three playoff games with the Silvertips, recording two assists.
Tampa Bay selected Gudas in the third round, 66th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
