ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 2-1-0-0 record (2-0-0-0 at home, 0-1-0-0 on the road, 0-0-0 in overtime) and tied for fourth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and tied for 11th place in the WHL…KOOTENAY will play four of their next five games on the road (October 9 – LETHBRIDGE, October 11 – SWIFT CURRENT, October 12 – REGINA, October 13- MOOSE JAW).
BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS: When the ICE host the PRINCE GEORGE COUGARS on October 6 it will be BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS Night…Fans at the game will have the opportunity to learn more about BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS.
ROSTER UPDATE: The ICE have 25 players on their roster, including three goalies, seven defensemen and 15 forwards…KOOTENAY begins the 2010-2011 season with 19 returning players and six first year players.
DID YOU KNOW: BRAYDEN MCNABB and JOE ANTILLA both played in their 200th career games on October 1 against SPOKANE…JESSE ISMOND played in his 140th career game with KOOTENAY on September 29 against RED DEER…KRIS KNOBLAUCH recorded his first win as Head Coach on September 25 against CALGARY…NATHAN LIEUWEN recorded his fourth WHL career shutout on September 25 against the HITMEN (25 saves).
INJURY: STEELE BOOMER will be out of the ICE line up day to day with a wrist injury.
SCORING STREAK: MAX REINHART (3-2-5), MATT FRASER (2-3-5) and JAMES MARTIN (3-1-4) have each recorded at least a point in all three regular season games.
