Lethbridge 4 Kootenay 3 SO Game #17

Cranbrook, BC – Lethbrdige Hurricanes beat the Kootenay ICE 4-3 in an overtime shootout in WHL action on Friday night.

ICE scored on the 1st shift of the game as Drew Czerwwonka fed Joe Antilla in the middle slot and scored on a one-timer.
Lethbridge tied it 1-1 on 2-on-1 break and 16-year-old Russell Maxwell scored his 1st career goal on a backhand deke.
ICE regained the lead as Jagger Dirk’s point shot ricocheted off Max Reinhart and Lethbridge defenseman Cason Machacek and went into the net.

Lethbridge tied it 2-2 on a 3-on-2 break as Graham Hood had an open on net a passing play with Alex Kuvaev and Reid Jackson.
The last 10 minutes of the 2nd period the Hurricanes had 4 straight powerplay including 2 long 2-man advantages.

In the 3rd period Lethbridge took a lead on a 3-on-2 break as Max Ross pushed in a rebound in the crease.
ICE pulled the goalie with 1:45 left in the 3rd period and Kevin King scored to force overtime.

The shootout went 4 round and Lethbridge won 1-0 on a goal by Jacob Berglund.

Tanner Faith played in his 1st WHL game. The 15-year old defenseman plays in the Saskatchewan AAA Midget League for Notre Dame and was selected by the ICE in the 2nd round of the 2010 Bantam Draft.

The ICE will host Calgary on Saturday.
