ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 21-9-1-2 record (9-3-1-1 at home, 12-6-0-1 on the road, 0-1 in overtime, 3-2 in shootouts) and in first place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and third in the WHL…KOOTENAY was ranked ninth in the BMO CHL MASTERCARD TOP 10 RANKINGS for the week of December 6…The ICE will conclude their first half of the 2010-2011 schedule with three games this week (two at home, one on the road)…KOOTENAY will host MEDICINE HAT (December 28) following the Christmas Break.

BEACHCOMBER HOT TUBS / CULLIGAN NIGHT: When the ICE host the CALGARY HITMEN on December 15 it will be BEACHCOMBER HOT TUBS / CULLIGAN NIGHT…Fans in attendance will get the opportunity to take part in an airplane toss.

KELLOGG’S / FOOD BANK NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts the RED DEER REBELS on December 17 it will be KELLOGG’S / FOOD BANK Night…Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help out CRANBROOK and KIMBERLEY….Fan will also have the opportunity to win many different prizes from KELLOGG’S over the course of the game.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY has the best road record in the LEAGUE with a 12-6-0-1...MAX REINHART, who recorded his 100th WHL career point against PRINCE ALBERT on December 8, tied a franchise record against the RAIDERS for most goals scored in a game with four (record shared with seven other players – most recently MICHAEL STICKLAND – September 18th, 2008 vs. SPOKANE…BRETT TESKEY recorded his second WHL career shutout December 8 in PRINCE ALBERT (33 saves)…STEELE BOOMER played in his 200th WHL game against SASKATOON on December 12…NATHAN LIEUWEN is fourth in the WHL in goals against average (2.63)…JESSE ISMOND needs three more points to reach 100 in his WHL career…KEVIN KING has played in 296 games with the ICE…BRAYDEN MCNABB is participating in CANADA’S NATIONAL JUNIOR TEAM SELECTION CAMP in Toronto.

INJURIES: Defenseman HAYDEN RINTOUL will be out of the ICE line up one to two weeks with a knee injury…Forward KEVIN KING will be out of the KOOTENAY line up day to day with an elbow injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 32 games of the 2009-2010 season the ICE were 16-14-1-1, after 33 games 16-15-1-1 and after 34 games 16-15-1-2.
