Medicine Hat 3 Kootenay 2 OT Game #29

Cranbrook, BC – Medicine Hat Tigers Wacey Hamilton scored the overtime winner in a 3-2 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Saturday night.

Tigers opened the scoring on a goal mouth scramble as Reid Petryk was credit with the goal.

The ICE tied the game late in the 2nd period on a powerplay goal as Brayden McNabb’s point shot beat the screened the goalie low on the stick side.
After hitting the goal post 3 times on touque and mitten toss night the fans finally had the chance to throw truckloads of winter clothing onto the ice.

Tigers took a 2-1 lead on 2-man advantage power-play as the WHL leading point getter Linden Vey scored with a slap shot from the middle slot that went in high on the stickside.
After serving a penalty Brayden McNabb joined the attack on an odd man rush and pushed in a loose puck that was behind the goalie.

Tigers got the game winner early in overtime as they dumped the puck high into the corner glass and it took a weird bounce and found Wacey Hamilton alone and he deked the goalie on the backhand.

ICE will start a 4 game road trip Wednesday in Prince Albert.

ICE Scratches – Hayden Rintoul (5th game knee 1-2 weeks), Eric Benoit (10th game knee 1 week).
