ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 1-1-0 record (1-1-0 at home, 0-0-0 on the road and 0-0 in overtime) after the two games of the EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTER FINAL against the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS…KOOTENAY finished the 2010-2011 regular season 46-21-1-4 (26-8-1-1 at home, 20-13-0-3 on the road, 1-1 in overtime, 4-4 in shootouts) and in fourth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and sixth in the WHL…The ICE clinched a playoff spot for the 13th consecutive season and tied CALGARY for the longest active streak in the WHL…KOOTENAY is facing the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS in the playoffs for the second time in franchise history…In 2001, the ICE defeated MOOSE JAW in four games in the first round of the post season…The week the ICE will travel to MOOSE JAW for Game Three (March 29) and Game Four (March 30) before returning home to host Game Five (April 1).

PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE: The ICE have a career playoff record of 70-57 (39-25 at home, 31-32 on the road, 18-10 in overtime)…KOOTENAY has 231 games of playoff experience which is the seventh most of the teams who qualified for the post season…KEVIN KING (29), CODY EAKIN (25) and BRAYDEN MCNABB (22) lead the ICE in games played in the playoffs…MCNABB recorded his first WHL playoff goal and assists on March 26 against MOOSE JAW…JOE ANTILLA recorded his first WHL playoff goal against the WARRIORS on March 26.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY finished the regular season with 46 wins which is the third highest in franchise history (49 – 2006-2007, 47 – 2004-2005)…The ICE finished the regular season with 20 road wins which is a tie for fifth most in franchise history (22 – 2009-2010 and 2000-2001, 21 – 2007-2008 and 2006-2007, 20 – 2004-2005 and 2002-2003)…KOOTENAY has won 40+ games for the eighth time in franchise history and sixth in the last seven years…The ICE finished the 2010-2011 regular season with an above .500 record for the 12th consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE…KOOTENAY finished the regular season with a .500 or better road record for the tenth time in the last 12 years…The ICE lost 146 man games to injuries this season…BRAYDEN MCNABB has been named to the FIRST WHL EASTERN CONFERENCE ALL-STAR TEAM…CODY EAKIN has been named to the SECOND WHL EASTERN CONFERENCE ALL-STAR TEAM.

ONE YEAR AGO: After Game Two of the 2009-2010 Quarter Final action the ICE were 2-0 and after Game Three were 2-1 against the MEDICINE HAT TIGERS.
