Everett 3 Kootenay 1 Exhibition Game #2

Kennewick, Wash – The Kootenay ICE dropped to a 1-1-0-0 record in the preseason with a 3-1 loss to the Everett Silvertips this afternoon.

ICE had to play most of the game with 5 defenseman after Dylan Schellenberg received a game misconduct in a late 1st period fight.

In the 2nd period the ICE changed goalies as Wyatt Hoflin replaced Mackenzie Skapski.
Late in the 2nd period the ICE scored their only goal on a 4-on-3 powerplay as Eric Benoit, playing the point, got a shot through to the net and Elgin Pearce banged in the rebound.

The ICE had 13 rookies in the line-up.
After playing last night it was the clubs’ 2nd game is less than 16 hours.
Cranbrook hockey product Ryan Chynoweth was in the line-up and with the Silvertips youth movement he has a strong chance to stay with the club this season.
Former ICE netminder Taylor Dakers is now the goalie coach for the Silvertips.

ICE will play Portland on Saturday afternoon.
