ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 9-3-0-2 record (6-1-0-0 at home, 3-2-0-2 on the road, 0-0-2 in overtime) and in first place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and tied for first in the WHL…The ICE will play their seven games at home (October 26 - November 13) before embarking on a nine game two week road trip (November 19 - December 4).

IN STAND PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER: The KOOTENAY ICE are looking for an in stand public address announcer or two...If you are able to talk on a microphone in front of a large crowd and have a fun outgoing personality call the ICE Office at 250-417-0322...The right individual or individuals will need to be available for all ICE home games.

HALLOWEEN DRESS UP: When the ICE host the PORTLAND WINTERHAWKS on October 29 fans are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes...During the game, prizes will be awarded to some of the best costumes...You will have the chance to win prizes from HUSKY, MOLSON and more.

PEPSI KIDS CLUB: Registration for the PEPSI KIDS CLUB is underway…Kids from five to 12 can sign up to be part of the KIDS CLUB and receive a punch card to attend eight games for only $5.00…The events this year will be skating with the team, a party at Fort Steele and watching a movie with the players…Cost for each kid is $17.00 and forms are available at the Kootenay ICE Office…Registration deadline is Monday, November 14.

MOIR PARK PLAYGROUND STICKS: The KOOTENAY ICE are teaming up with JUNIOR CHAMBER INTERNATIONAL - KOOTENAYS to raise money for a playground in MOIR PARK...On Saturday, November 5th when the ICE host the RED DEER REBELS the team will be playing with green and white sticks that will be auctioned off behind Section U during the game...The winning bids will have the opportunity to meet the player and have their picture taken following the game.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are tied for 11th on the power play in the WHL at 22.2%...KOOTENAY is eighth in penalty killing in the LEAGUE at 80.8%...The ICE are 7-1-0-1 when they score the first goal of the game and 2-2-0-1 when their opponent scores first...NATHAN LIEUWEN, who is first among goaltenders in the LEAGUE in goals against average (1.44), is third in franchise history for games played by a goaltender with 132 (JEFF GLASS - 143, TAYLOR DAKERS - 137)...JESSE ISMOND is tied for eighth in the LEAGUE in plus/minus at plus ten...JAEDON DESCHENEAU recorded his first WHL career goal in LETHBRIDGE (October 17)...MAX REINHART recorded his 100th WHL assist in MEDICINE HAT (October 18)...MIKE SIMPSON recorded his first WHL career goal on October 23 in CALGARY...JOE ANTILLA recorded his 100th WHL career point with an assist in CALGARY (October 23)...JOEY LEACH played in his 150th WHL career game on October 18 against MEDICINE HAT.
SCORING STREAKS: MAX REINHART (2-7-9) has recorded a point in each of his last five games...DREW CZERWONKA (3-1-4) has recorded a point in his last three games.

INJURY: BRENDAN HURLEY will be out of the KOOTENAY line up for four to six weeks with a lower body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 14 games of the 2010-2011 season the ICE were 10-3-0-1, after 15 games 11-3-0-1 and after 16 games 11-4-0-1.
