ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 21-10-1-2 record (11-5-1-0 at home, 10-5-0-2 on the road, 1-1-2 in overtime) and in third place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and tied for sixth overall in the WHL...The ICE will play five of their next seven games at home.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are 13-9-1-2 against the EASTERN CONFERENCE this season (8-4-1-0 at home, 5-5-0-2 on the road, 1-1-2 in overtime)...KOOTENAY is ranked seventh on the power play in the WHL at 24.0%...The ICE are third in penalty killing in the LEAGUE at 82.6%...NATHAN LIEUWEN, who is second in the LEAGUE in save percentage (.926), is first in the WHL in goals against average (2.12)...LIEUWEN is first in franchise history for the most games played by a goaltender with 149 (JEFF GLASS - 143)...SAM REINHART, who is tied for fifth in the LEAGUE for points by a rookie (10-21-31), is tied for eighth in the WHL for scoring the first goal of the game with four...MAX REINHART, who is tied for fourth in the LEAGUE for scoring the first goal of the game with five, needs to record five more points to reach 200 in his WHL career...JOHN NEIBRANDT is tied for seventh in the WHL in plus / minus with a plus 20...JOE ANTILLA became the sixth player in franchise history to play in 300 WHL career games on December 9 against MEDICINE HAT...DREW CZERWONKA, who played in his 200 WHL career game in MEDICINE HAT on December 10, needs to record four more points to reach 100 in his WHL career...JON MARTIN (TEAM WEST), SPENCER WAND (TEAM WEST), JAEDON DESCHENEAU (TEAM PACIFIC) and SAM REINHART (TEAM PACIFIC) are all participating in the 2012 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE in WINDSOR, ONTARIO from December 26 to January 4.

TRANSACTIONS: The ICE have called up Defenseman TANNER FAITH (October 5, 1995 - NOTRE DAME - SMAAAHL) and Forward LUKE PHILP (November 6, 1995 - CANMORE - AJHL) for the next five games.
