Brandon 1 Kootenay 0 Game #47

Cranbrook, BC – Brandon Wheat King rookie goalie Curtis Honey earned his 1st win and 1st shutout in a 1-0 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Tuesday night.

Honey made 34 saves.

In the first period the Wheat Kings (24-22-1-2) created a turnover at the ICE blueline for a 3-on-1 break and Kevin Sundher’s wrist shot beat the goalie on the glove side.
It was the first goal by Sunder in a Brandon uniform.

This was the third time this season the ICE were held without a goal in the first 40 minutes.
The ICE (27-14-3-3) were held to 1 goal 6 times this season and this is the first time they have been shutout.

The ICE will visit Lethbridge on Wednesday.
