Kootenay 7 Brandon 3 Game #46

Brandon, Man – Kootenay ICE forwards Jesse Ismond and Levi Cable each scored 2 goals in a 7-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings in WHL action on Saturday night.

In the first period the ICE (27-13-3-3) scored a powerplay goal as Jagger Dirk sneaked in from the blueline and scored from the bottom of the circle.
On a 3-on-2 break the Reinhart brothers got the puck to Joe Antilla who beat the goalie with a wrist shot.

In the second period The ICE scored early as Brock Montgomery received a pass near the crease from Eric Benoit and scored into an empty net.
Max Reinhart almost broke through 2 Wheat Kings for a breakway and was knocked down but the trailing Levi Cable scored before a fallen defender knocked the net off its supports.
The ICE made it 5-0 with Jesse Ismond scoring with a long wrist shot that beat the goalie high on the glove side.
The Wheat Kings changed goalies as Curtis Honey replaced Brandon Anderson.
The Wheat Kings (23-22-1-2) scored their first goal of the game as Riley Miller was behind the net and his atteptemted pass deflected off an ICE skate and into the net.
The ICE made it 6-1 as Jesse Ismond deflected a Jagger Dirk point shot.
With 10 seconds left in the period the Wheat KIngs got the puck to a wide open Michael Ferland who scored with a wrist shot.

In the third period Brandon’s Jens Meilleur scored on a loose puck near the crease.
With 5 seconds left in the game Jon Martin fed Levi Cable near the net and he scored his 2nd of the game.

The ICE are 4-0-2 in the last 6 games, matching their longest point streak of the season as they had a 6 game winning streak in November.
