Kootenay 5 Brandon 4 SO Game #60

Brandon, Man – Kootenay ICE forward Sam Reinhart had 2 goals and 1 assist in a 5-4 overtime shootout win over the Brandon Wheat Kings in WHL action on Tuesday night.

The teams split the season series 2-2 with the road team winning every game.

The ICE (33-19-4-4) opened the scoring with Sam Reinhart putting in a Dylen McKinlay rebound.
The Wheat Kings (32-26-1-3) tied the game with Dylan Kuczek getting his 1st WHL goal.
The ICE regained the lead with Sam Reinhart hitting Joe Antilla with a breakaway pass at the Brandon Blueline and he scored with a wrist shot high on the glove side.

In the second period the Wheat Kings tied the game 2-2 on the powerplay with a goal mouth scramble goal by Dominick Favreau.
ICE forward Dylen McKinlay scored a powerplay rebound goal but it was disallowed for goalie interference.

In the third period the ICE took a 3-2 lead after a Jon Martin hit created a loose puck puck behind the net, Jaedon Descheneau fed Max Reinhart who scored on a one-time shot.
On a goal mouth scramble the ICE made it 4-2 with Sam Reinhart getting his 2nd of the game.
The Wheat Kings scored another powerplay goal with Eric Roy sneaking in from the blueline.
The Wheat Kings forced overtime with their goalie on the bench and Dominick Favreau got his 2nd of the game.

The Shootout went 5 rounds with Jesse Ismond the only player to score.
The ICE have a career shootout record of 4-1 against Brandon.
Max Reinhart extended his point streak to 6 games (4-4-8).

The ICE will visit Regina on Wednesday.
