Kootenay 5 Prince Albert 4 OT Game #63

Prince Albert, Sask – Kootenay ICE forward Max Reinhart had 2 goals and 2 assists and Sam Reinhart scored the overtime goal in a 5-4 win over the Prince Albert Raiders in WHL action on Saturday night.

The ICE (34-21-4-4) opened the scoring on a play that started with a big defensive play by Max Reinhart and ended with him scoring his 25th.
The Raiders (20-37-3-2) then scored 3 goals in a 1:38 span with goals by Antoine Corbin, Anthony Bardaro and Josh Morrissey.

In the second period the ICE got a point shot from Joey Leach that was deflected into the net by Erik Benoit.
With 6.6 seconds left in the period the ICE tied the game 3-3 with a shorthanded goal as Max Reinhart won the race for the puck in the Raiders zone and threw a pass to the low slot for Erik Benoit who redirected the puck into the net.
It’s the first career multi-goal game for Erik Benoit.

In the third period the Raiders regained the lead on a powerplay goal by Mark McNeill.
The ICE forced overtime with a penalty shot goal by Max Reinhart with a wrist shot through the goalies legs.
