Saskatoon 5 Kootenay 0 Game #62

Saskatoon, Sask – Saskatoon Blades goalie Andrey Makarov made 38 saves for his 1st career shutout in a 5-0 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Friday night.

The Blades (36-25-0-1) opened the scoring on the powerplay as Brent Benson was near the crease to put in a loose puck.

In the second period the Blades made it 2-0 on a rebound goal by Travis McEvoy.
Saskatoon added another goal with Matej Stransky
The ICE (33-21-4-4) Spencer Wand was involved in 2 fights and leads the club with 11 fighting majors.

Luke Paulsen left the game and didn’t return.
Blades made it 4-0 as Ryan Olsen danced through 2 ICE defenseman for a partial breakaway and scored with a wrist shot.
