Kootenay vs Lethbridge Exhibition Game #4

Crowsnest Pass, Alb – Kootenay ICE forward Sam Reinhart had 2 goals and 1 assist in a 5-4 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL preseason action on Friday night.

Colin Shirley (1g, 1a), Jagger Dirk (2a) and Jaedon Descheneau (2a) each had 2 point games.

The ICE opened the scoring early in the first period off a turnover in the Hurricanes zone and forward Douglas Morris scored his 1st goal of the preseason.
Lethbridge got 2 goals from Brady Ramsay, one on a powerplay and the other on a delayed penalty.
The ICE tied the game in the final minute on a powerplay as the puck took a weird bounce on a dump-in and Eric Benoit had an open net as he found the puck in the crease with the goalie was still behind the net. Benoit has 2 goals in the preseason and both are power-play goals.

In the second period the Hurricanes scored early to take a 3-2 lead and at one point they were outshooting the ICE 13-1.
The ICE tied the game midway through the period as Brock Montgomery stole the puck in the Hurricanes zone and fed Sam Reinhart in the slot who scored with a one-time shot.
Lethbridge switched goalies midway through the game with Tanner Kovacs replacing Christopher Tai.
Late in the period the ICE took a 4-3 lead on a goal mouth scramble with Collin Shirley pushing it across the line.
Reid Duke tied the game with 12 seconds left in the period.

Early in the third period the ICE got the winning goal with Sam Reinhart notching his 2nd of the game wit a powerplay redirection on a pass from Jaedon Descheneau.

The ICE will be at Western Financial Place Saturday morning from 9-11 as season ticket holders are invited for a pancake breakfast and to pick up their tickets.

The ICE will play their final exhibition game against Calgary in the Crowsnest Pass on Sunday afternoon at 2.
