Kootenay 4 Saskatoon 3 Game #7

Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay forward Brock Montgomery had 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4-3 win over the Saskatoon Blades in WHL action on Friday night.

The win ended a 3-game losing streak and extended the Blades losing slide to 5 games.

The ICE (2-5-0-0) opened the scoring as Brock Montgomery came down the right wing with a high slap shot that was stopped by the goalie but the rebound went into the net off the back of a Blades defenseman.
Kootenay made it 2-0 on a powerplay as Jaedon Descheneau retrieved the puck and fed Jagger Dirk who wrist shot from the point beat the screened goalie high on the glove side.

Early in the second period the Blades (2-7-0-0) got a redirection goal from Josh Nicholls.

Early in the third period Saskatoon tied the game as Josh Nicholls scored his 2nd of the game off a behind the net pass from Shane McColgan.
The ICE regained the lead with Sam Reinhart finding a loose puck near the crease for his 3rd of the season.
Saskatoon tied the game again on 3-on-2 break with Shane McColgan getting his 1st of the year.
The ICE took a 4-3 off a turnover in the Blades zone and Brock Montgomery wristing a shot to the top corner on the stick side.

The ICE will host Edmonton on Sunday.
