Seattle 7 Kootenay 4 Game #21

Kent, Wash – The Seattle Thunderbirds scored 4 third period goals in a 7-4 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Wednesday night.

The Thunderbirds (11-11-1-0) opened the scoring with a couple of odd-man rushes with Richards Lipsbergs and Connor Honey giving them a 2-0 lead.
The ICE (7-13-1-0) scored midway through the period with Zach McPhee jumping past a defenseman at their blueline and had a partial breakaway and found the net with a low shot to the stick side.
McPhee has 4 goals in his last 5 games

Early in the second period the Thunderbirds made it 3-1 with a powerplay goal from Riley Sheen.

In the third period the ICE got within a goal as Jakub Prochazka scored his 1st career goal on a rebound.
Seattle’s Luke Lockart scored 2 goals in a span 1:14 to make it 5-2.
The ICE then scored a shorthanded goal with Jordyn Boyd backhanding a shot over the goalies reaching pad.
Seattle quickly made it 6-3 with Justin Hickman scoring on a redirection.
With the clubs’ skating 4-on-4 Jordyn Boyd got his 2nd of the period.
ICE pulled their goalie with 1:11 left in the game and Alexander Delnov ended the scoring with an empty netter.

The ICE will visit Portland on Friday afternoon.
