Kootenay 2 Regina 1 Game #46

Regina, Sask – Kootenay ICE forward Jaedon Descheneau scored 2 goals in a 2-1 win over the Regina Pats in WHL action on Friday night.

Midway through the first period Pats (18-25-2-2) defensman Luke Fenske’s point shot was blocked high into the air and as it came down near the ICE net Dyson Stevenson spun-around and batted the puck into the net.

The ICE (20-25-1-0) tied the game late in the second period with Jaedon Descheneau near the net to flip the puck over the fallen goalie.

Early in the third period the ICE took a 2-1 lead with Jaedon Descheneau one-timing a Sam Reinhart pass.

Mackenzie Skapski made 29 saves including 15 in the third period.
There was only 1 penalty called in the entire game giving the ICE a man advantage for the final 28 seconds of the game.

Jaedon Descheneau (9 games), Sam Reinhart (9 games) and Jordyn Boyd (3 games) extended his point streaks.
It was the first career multi-goal game for Descheneau.
The ICE have won 10 of their last 11 games an have trailed by 1 or 2 goals in 7 of the wins.

The ICE will visit Moose Jaw on Saturday.
