Kootenay 3 Lethbridge 0 Game #53

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 2 power play goals and 1 shorthanded and Mackenzie Skapski made 23 saves for the shutout in a 3-0 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL action on Saturday.

The ICE (24-27-2-0) opened the scoring in the second period while shorthanded with Levi Cable going through the slot and fired a wrist shot high on the glove side.
It’s the 7th SHG for the ICE and 2nd of the season for Cable.
The ICE made it 2-0 on the powerplay with a one-time slap shot from Joey Leach.

In the third period Brock Montgomery scored a powerplay goal into an empty net.

Mackenzie Skapski earned his 4th shutout of the season.

Sam Reinhart (16 games) extended his point streak.
Jaedon Descheneau had 2 assists and was named the ICE Player of the Month for January.
The ICE will host Spokane on Friday.
