Edmonton 4 Kootenay 0 Playoff Game #4

Cranbrook, BC – Edmonton Oil Kings goalie Laurent Brossoit earned his 2nd shutout of the series in a 4-0 win over the Kootenay ICE in game 4 of their 1st round Playoff series in WHL action on Wednesday.

For the third time in the series the Oil Kings scored the first goal of the game as the Henrik Samuelsson got the only goal of the first period on a deflection.
The ICE had 3 breakaways in the period.

In the second period the Oil Kings got a powerplay goal off the skate of Curtis Lazar and a goal with 17 seconds left in the period by Edgars Kulda.
The ICE were credited with only 2 shots on goal in the period but hit 4 goal posts/crossbars and had 4 odd-man rushes that ended without a shot.

The ICE pulled their goalie with 2 minutes left and Griffin Reinhart scored into an empty net.

It’s the 9th time the ICE have been shutout in their playoff history and the 3rd time against Edmonton.
The ICE have held a lead for only 1:27 in the entire series.
The crowd was the smallest in playoff history.

The ICE will visit Edmonton on Friday in game 5 of their 1st round playoff series.
