Edmonton 7 Kootenay 1 Playoff Game #3

Cranbrook, BC – Edmonton Oil Kings forward Michael St. Croix scored 2 first period gals in a 7-1 win over the Kootenay ICE in game 3 of their 1st round Playoff series in WHL action on Tuesday.

Early in the first period the teams exchanged 4 goals in less than 5 minutes with Edmonton’s Michael St. Croix scoring twice and Curtis Lazar getting the other.
The ICE tied the game 1-1 on Luke Philps’ 2nd of the series.
St. Croix has scored a goal in all 3 games.

In the second period Luke Bertolucci made it 4-1 on a wraparound.

In the third period a powerplay goal by Griffing Reinhart made the score 5-1 and the ICE changed goalies with Wyatt Hoflin replacing Mackenzie Skapski.
Trevor Cheek made it 6-1 on the first shot on the new goalie and Cole Benson made it 7-1.

The ICE powerplay is 0-for-12 in the series and the Oil Kings are 4-for-9.
The Oil Kings have outscored the ICE 17-3 in the series.
The ICE will host Edmonton on Wednesday in game 4 of their 1st round playoff series.
