Kootenay 4 Medicine Hat 2

Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE Captain Joey Leach had 2 assists in a 4-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers in WHL action on Saturday.

The ICE (33-30-2-0) opened the scoring in the first period on a rebound goal by Sam Reinhart off a point shot by Jagger Dirk.
The game was delayed for 4 minutes midway through the period as a Flash Mob broke out in the building with over 1,400 school kids in the building for School Spirit Night.
Late in the period Levi Cable created a 2-on-1 and fed a wide open Luke Philp near the crease for a redirection goal to make it 2-0.

Early in the second the Tigers (33-30-2-1) scored on the powerplay with Boston Leier getting to the middle slot for wrist shot low on the stick side.
Midway through the period the ICE made it 3-1 as Austin Vetterl found a wide open Tanner Faith at the blueline and he scored with a wrist shot low on the stick side.

Late in the third period the Tigers pulled their goalie and got a deflection goal from Miles Koules.
The Tigers pulled their goalie again and Levi Cable scored into the empty net.

The crowd was the biggest of the season.

The ICE will visit Red Deer on Tuesday.
