Red Deer 4 Kootenay 1 Game #64

Cranbrook, BC – Red Deer forward Cory Millette scored 2 goals in a 4-1 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Friday.

The Rebels (35-24-4-2) opened the scoring early in the first period with Cory Millette near the crease for a tip-in goal.
The goal ended Mackenzie Skapski’s shutout streak at 135:23.

The ICE (32-30-2-0) tied the game midway through the second period on a wiat high deflection by Jaedon Descheneu off a point shot from Joey Leach.
Less than a minute later the Rebels made it 2-1 on a forehand wrap-around by Cory Millette.

Late in the third period the Rebels scored two goals with Brooks Maxwell and the Rhyse Dieno into an empty net.

The loss ended the ICE home winning streak at 12 games.

Mackenzie Skapski, who was named the ICE Player of the Month for February, set a Franchise record for games in one season by a goalie by making his 58th appearance.

The ICE will host Medicine Hat on Saturday.
