Tri City 6 Kootenay 4 Game #67

Kennewick, Wash – Tri City Americans forward Connor Rankin had 3 goals and 2 assists in a 6-4 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Friday.

The ICE (33-32-2-0) opened the scoing on a powerplay with Collin Shirley getting a rebound goal.
The teams then exchanged 3 goals in a span off 22 seconds (A new ICE Franchise Record).
ICE forward Brock Montgomery made it 2-0 on a goal mouth scramble.
Americans (40-24-1-2) forward Parker Bowles got credit for a goal as his attempted pass went into the net off an ICE stick.
6 seconds later Brian Williams tied the game coming down the right wing with a wrist shot on the stick side.
The ICE record for fastest 2 goals allowed is 5 seconds.

Early in the second period the ICE took a 3-2 lead with Sam Reinhart’s wrist shot high n the glove side.
Midway through the period the Americans tied it 3-3 with Connor Rankin’s wrist shot that went off the post and into the net.

On the first shift of the third period Marcus Messier scored with a wrist shot on the stick side.
The Americans made it 5-3 with Connor Ranking crashing the net for a forehand wraparound.
The ICE pulled the goalie and Jaedon Descheneau batted in a high pass into the net to make the score 5-4.
ICE pulled the goalie again and Connor Rankin completed his hat-trick.
It’s the second hat-trick allowed by the ICE this season.

The ICE will visit Spokane on Saturday.
