10 Things

1. The ICE and Hurricanes have played 119 regular season games and the ICE have won 63. 16 other games have ended in ties, overtime and shootout losses.

2. The Hurricanes don’t have a NHL drafted player on the roster but forward Reid Duke is a 1st/2nd round prospect for the 2014 Draft and defenseman Ryan Pilon is rated as a top 10 pick in 2015.

3. The ICE roster is at 24 players (2 goalies, 8 defensemen, 14 forwards) and the original plan was to be at 22 going into October. Unless there are injuries there should be 1 forward and 1 defensemen roster decision to be made after this weekend.

4. The next win by the ICE will be the 210th career regular season win by Ryan McGill who is tied with Cory Clouston for most in team history.

5. Newly acquired Ryan Chynoweth will wear jersey #18.

6. The WHL over-age deadline is in a couple of weeks and the ICE, Oil Kings, Cougars and Pats have openings. Depending on who comes back from pro camps the teams that could have more than 3 include the Silvertips, Hitmen, Tigers, Rockets and Americans.

7. The last Cranbrook native to play for the ICE was defensemen Donny Lloyd.

8. On November 28th Lethbridge will be the host for WHL vs Russia game. They also hosted in 2004 when the WHL won 5-2.

9. Nigel Dawes and Jeff Glass were on the WHL roster and played for Canada a few weeks later in the WJHC.

10. After the NHL told the Hurricanes they couldn’t have similar uniforms to the Washington Capitals, the club now has a new logo and uniforms this season.
