ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 22-20-2-2 record (13-10-0-2 at home, 9-10-2-0 on the road, 0-2 in overtime, 3-2 in shootouts) and in seventh place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE...The ICE will play four of their next five games against EAST DIVISION teams.

TIP THE ICE: On Tuesday, January 14 fans are invited to come down to EAST SIDE MARIO'S in CRANBROOK to be served by the ICE...The players will be waiting tables to raise money for the KOOTENAY ICE EDUCATION FUND from 6:00 - 9:00 pm...Call EAST SIDE MARIO'S at 250-489-2822 for reservations.

JERSEY OFF THE BACK NIGHT: When the ICE host the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS on January 25 it will be JERSEY OFF THE BACK NIGHT...Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on the white RBK Edge Jerseys...The winning bid on each jersey will get to meet the player after the game and will receive their jersey at the conclusion of the playoffs...All money raised will go the KOOTENAY ICE EDUCATION FUND.

DID YOU KNOW: SAM REINHART (4), RINAT VALIEV (106), JAEDON DESCHENEAU (122), LUKE PHILP (125), and TANNER FAITH (limited viewing) have all been listed in the NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING NORTH AMERICAN SKATERS MID-TERM RANKINGS...SAM REINHART, who has been named CAPTAIN of TEAM CHERRY for the BMO CHL/NHL TOP PROSPECTS GAME in CALGARY, ALBERTA on January 15, is the 11th ICE player in franchise history to participate in the game...KYLE O'CONNOR played in his 100th WHL career game on January 8 in LETHBRIDGE...SAM REINHART and ZACH FRANKO each recorded their 200 WHL career points against EDMONTON on January 12...JAEDON DESCHENEAU, who is tied for third in the WHL in goals scored with 28, is sixth in the League in points with 58 (28-30-58)…DESCHENEAU is fourth in power play goals with 13...SAM REINHART is tied for seventh in the League in assists with 35.

SCORING STREAKS: LUKE PHILP (2-7-9) has recorded at least a point in his last seven games…TIM BOZON (6-4-10) has recorded at least a point in his last six games…SAM REINHART (2-5-7) has recorded at least a point in the last four games he has played in...RINAT VALIEV (1-3-4) has recorded at least a point in his last three games.

TRANSACTION / INJURY: KOOTENAY acquired 20-year-old Forward ZACH FRANKO from the KELOWNA ROCKETS in exchange for a sixth round pick in the 2014 WHL BANTAM DRAFT and a third round pick in the 2016 WHL BANTAM DRAFT on January 8…Defenseman TANNER FAITH will be out of the ICE line up four to six months with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 46 games of the 2012-2013 season the ICE were 20-25-1-0, after 47 games were 21-25-1-0 and after 48 games were 22-25-1-0.
