ICE Weekly Report

ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 3-7-0-0 record (2-1-0-0 at home, 1-6-0-0 on the road, 1-0-0 in overtime) and in fifth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...The ICE will play three of its next four games on the road beginning October 21 in PRINCE ALBERT...The next home outing for KOOTENAY is October 24 versus CALGARY.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 24 players (two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of three 1994-born players, eight 1995-born players, five 1996-born players, five 1997-born players, and three 1998-born players...KOOTENAY has eight first-year players on its roster.

DID YOU KNOW: Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU appeared in his 200th WHL regular season game October 17 versus REGINA...For the second consecutive year, DESCHENEAU has been named to TEAM WHL for the 2014 SUBWAY SUPER SERIES against RUSSIA November 10 in SASKATOON and November 11 in BRANDON...DESCHENEAU is two points shy of 200 career WHL regular season points...Goaltender WYATT HOFLIN recorded his first career WHL shutout (34 saves) October 17 against the PATS...Defenseman TROY MURRAY scored his first career WHL goal October 17 versus REGINA.

INJURIES: Forward TIM BOZON will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup day to day with a lower body injury...Forward VINCE LOSCHIAVO will be out of the ICE lineup day to day with an upper body injury...Forward JON MARTIN will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup one to two weeks with an upper body injury...Defenseman RINAT VALIEV will be out of the ICE line up one to two weeks with a lower body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After ten games of the 2013-14 season the ICE were 5-4-1-0, after 11 games 5-5-1-0 and after 12 games 6-5-1-0.
