ICE Weekly Report

ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with an 11-14-0-0 record (8-5-0-0 at home, 3-9-0-0 on the road, 3-0 in overtime, 1-0 in shootouts) and in fifth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...KOOTENAY, who holds an 8-1-0-0 record in the month of November, will play its next six games against U.S. DIVISION opponents beginning November 28 in PORTLAND.

A&W TEDDY BEAR TOSS: The A&W TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT will take place December 5 when the ICE host the SPOKANE CHIEFS...Fans in attendance are encouraged to bring new and unused toques, mittens and teddy bears to launch onto the ice after KOOTENAY scores their first goal.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 23 players (two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 14 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of three 1994-born players, nine 1995-born players, four 1996-born players, five 1997-born players, and two 1998-born players...KOOTENAY has seven first-year players on its roster.

DID YOU KNOW: Forward SAM REINHART became the ICE franchise leader in assists November 21 versus LETHBRIDGE, surpassing JARRET STOLL...REINHART has recorded 168 career regular season assists...Defenseman RINAT VALIEV matched a franchise record for points by a defenseman in one game (five) against the HURRICANES November 21 (1-4-5)...Forward JON MARTIN equaled a franchise record for points in one period (four) November 23 versus MOOSE JAW (1-3-4)...MARTIN appeared in his 200th career regular season game November 23 against the WARRIORS, becoming the sixth current KOOTENAY player to have played 200 games in the WHL...Goaltender WYATT HOFLIN earned his second career shutout November 22 at MEDICINE HAT (3-0)...The 48 saves made by HOFLIN against the TIGERS are the most by any ICE goaltender in a shutout performance, breaking a record set March 6, 1998 by CLAYTON POOL (45 saves)...Forward MATT ALFARO recorded a career high three points (1-2-3) November 23 against MOOSE JAW.

SCORING STREAKS: Forward SAM REINHART has scored at least one point in each of his eight games with KOOTENAY this season (4-15-19)...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU has scored at least one goal in each of his last four games, and has recorded points in his past seven games (6-4-10)...Forward LEVI CABLE is currently riding a three-game goal scoring streak (4-1-5).

INJURIES: Defenseman DYLAN OVERDYK will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup indefinitely with an upper body injury...Defenseman TANNER FAITH will be out of the ICE lineup one to two weeks with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 24 games of the 2013-14 season the ICE were 12-10-2-0, after 25 games 12-11-2-0 and after 26 games 13-11-2-0.
