ICE Weekly Report

ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 27-26-0-1 record (17-11-0-0 at home, 10-15-0-1 on the road, 6-0 in overtime, 1-1 in shootouts) and in fifth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and eighth place in the new playoff wildcard standings...KOOTENAY will complete a season-high seven game home stand with three matchups this week beginning February 11 versus MEDICINE HAT.

FAMILY SUNDAYS: Bring the whole family to a KOOTENAY ICE game with our FAMILY SUNDAY offer...At each Sunday regular season home game, fans can purchase four tickets, four regular soft drinks, and four concession food items (hot dog, pizza slice or small popcorn) for $52.00...Children under 12 can also eat for free from the COYOTE JACK'S RESTAURANT Kid's Menu on FAMILY SUNDAYS when dining with parents...The final FAMILY SUNDAY of the season is February 15 when the ICE host SASKATOON... ANTI-BULLYING NIGHT: Join the KOOTENAY ICE and WESTERN FINANCIAL GROUP for ANTI-BULLYING NIGHT February 20 versus EDMONTON...Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and join the ICE in taking a stand against bullying...Parents of students in SCHOOL DISTRICTS 5 and 6 can contact their school office for details on how to attend one of our biggest nights of the season!

PASTA & CHICKEN DINNER: The KOOTENAY ICE FAN CLUB is hosting a PASTA AND CHICKEN BUFFET Sunday, March 8 at the HERITAGE INN...The dinner will be attended by the KOOTENAY ICE PLAYERS and will start with cocktails at 4:30 pm...Tickets are $30.00 and are available during home games at the FAN CLUB TABLE or by calling KELLY at 250-426-3638 or CAROLIN at 250-417-6593.

DID YOU KNOW: Forward SAM REINHART was named the STEEPLES CONSTRUCTION PLAYER OF THE MONTH for January...REINHART recorded 14 points (4-10-14) in 12 games played, including a ten-game point streak from January 10-30...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU recorded his 250th career point with an assist February 6 versus BRANDON...DESCHENEAU is the fifth player in franchise history to reach the 250-point mark with the ICE (SAM REINHART, JARRET STOLL, NIGEL DAWES, DUSTIN SYLVESTER)...DESCHENEAU and Forward TIM BOZON are both one assist away from 150 career helpers…REINHART is four points short of 300 career points...Forward LEVI CABLE is one appearance away from 250 career games played...Former KOOTENAY Goaltender MACKENZIE SKAPSKI was recalled by the NEW YORK RANGERS February 4 from the HARTFORD WOLF PACK of the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE...SKAPSKI holds a 12-7-3 record, 2.38 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in 24 games played with the WOLF PACK this season.

INJURY: Defenseman TANNER FAITH will be out of the ICE lineup four to six months with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 54 games of the 2013-14 season the ICE were 29-21-2-2, after 55 games 30-21-2-2 and after 56 games 31-21-2-2.
